Hellas Verona FC:
A Story of Football in Verona

Exeed Isologo
Logo Hellas Verona FC
In the heart of Verona, Italy, lies a football club with a rich history: Hellas Verona FC.
Founded in 1903 as Associazione Calcio Hellas, the club has carved a unique place in
Italian football. Their historic 1984-85 Scudetto victory remains a source of immense
pride, making them the only team from a non-regional capital to achieve this feat.
The 1980s were a period of great success, with Coppa Italia final appearances and
participation in European competitions like the European Cup and UEFA Cup.

Verona’s distinctive yellow and blue colors are drawn from the city’s emblem, while
their nicknames, “The Mastiffs” and “The Scaligers,” honor the Della Scala family,
who ruled Verona centuries ago. This heritage is reflected in their logo and kit, which
prominently displays the Scaligeri coat of arms—two powerful mastiffs facing
opposite directions.
